Thinking about pulling the trigger on a new 2011. What's a good price? The bike is bone stock.

Hard to say now, didn't realize there were any left.
A bit over a year ago I bought mine for $7k. They had a promo going on the saddlebags for $199 and 0% financing for 60 months.
Tough spot in a way, the bike is now 2 years old coming up on 3 yet its new.

The '12 has so many improvements in many areas. I'd rather get a '12-'13-'14 or get an older, cheaper Wee and have the money to improve seat, suspension, windscreen, etc.

The thing is we don't know what he's had the bike offered to him for.
The '12 has 'improvements' but I don't think its any magic carpet.
At the right price there are some reasons one might consider the '11.
-7 years of parts and accessory availability, including used farkles.
-A larger tank
-7 years of information regarding their issues, longevity and modifications.
That may or may not be worth anything to someone but might be a consideration for others.

If you pay $6k for an 11, I would see if the dealer is willing to go cost on some available accessories. I think a year ago, I would have been happy to pay $6K for an 11, now not sure. Its very easy, at least for me, to talk yourself into buying more bike than you intended. I started my process looking at 11 hold over KLR650s for $4900 but ended up buying a hold over 12 last winter for $7300. The dealer was also willing to go cost on accessories for 30 days post sale. Another consideration is if you are not paying cash, may want to take advantage 0% financing on a newer bike. Consider saving approx $400 in loan interest.
