Another Strom noob thread...

Hey everyone,

I'm thinking about a Vee or Wee for my next bike. Previous bike was an '01 TL1000. Loved the bike but had to sell due to financial situation. Well, the tables have turned a bit and I'm looking for something again.

The ergos of the TL weren't great for commuting ~60 miles a day in mild traffic, but I sure loved that motor for the twisties. I'd like something I could do some touring on, nothing drastic but maybe some riding within Texas or a jaunt to the hill country.

I guess my concerns are with my size. I'm 6'2", ~300 lbs. The TL moved me just fine, but I'm concerned about the 650. I hear great things about it, but the new 1000 coming out soon seems really nice. What are the dimensions on the wee? Seat to footpeg concerns me, as does the power to my fat ass ratio. Any other big folks riding the wee versus the Vee? Gas mileage for commuting would be the main reason for the wee over the Vee.

I can't imagine the ergo's would be much different between the DL650 and 2014 DL1000.

Whatever you get, you'll probably want something like this to lower your pegs:

Check this site out. It helped me on what I'd look like on certain motorcycles plus it's cool to mess around with.

That's definitely an interesting tool. But now has me interested in another bike again. Probably will end up with the 1000 if I pull the trigger on this. Also considering the HD xr1200x. Maybe get her some bags and a windscreen and hit the road.
