New 2011 bike concerns

So there is a 2006 weestrom with 30k+ miles, and across the showroom is a 2011 Versys with 69 miles.

Aside from the bikes themselves - what should I be aware of in terms of a bike that's been sitting in a showroom for 2+ years? Seals and gasket? Tires? Electrical? What gotchas might be lurking?

I am testing them both today or tomorrow.

Thanks for these great forums. I have been slurping up the vstro
Data for a couple weeks now

If they are the same price, take the Versys... Gaskets and seals won't be a problem whether the bike sits in a showroom or is in use daily... If anything, sitting in the showroom would be a plus from the perspective of wear and tear and decay...

I don't know if there will be much for conerns.

My 2006 DL650 sat in my garage ignored (apart from Battery maintainance) for over a year. No fuel stabilizer (but it did have non-ethanol gas), no oil in cuyclinders, no nothing. This past May I was moving houses so I figured ait would be a good time to see if it runs. I turned on the ignition, waited for the fuel pump to cycle, then pressed the starter button. I swear it was running before I could let go of the button. I rode it to its new home a week later and it ran fine apart from the clutch cable needing adjustment.

2006 DL650: 202,000 km 125,500 miles, Sold
2012 DL650 139,500+ km, 86,700+ miles. Sold
2015 DL1000 New July 2015 200,000+ km, 125,000 miles.

This can help preventing from cars pulling out in front of you (SMIDSY)

Price wise : versus is 2011 w/69 miles and asking price of 6500.
Vstrom is 2006 w/30k and asking 4250. Both are essentially stock. Strom is NOT abs model.
