I just pulled the trigger on a set of Leo's for my 1000. I have read this can cause lean-ness and trouble in the 3 to 4000rpm range. I know there is a Yosh Box exchange program on the other V-strom site, but I was wondering if anyone local (Triangle NC or little further) has one and would be willing to make some adjustments to my bike for a small donation?

I guess thats another benefit of the WEE, no need for that stuff! I have not heard of anyone in this area with one. Being ignorant of such matters, I am curious if the power commander people seem to put on would accomplish the same thing? It is my understanding that you can customize all the settings for your particular situation. Of course, it does put extra strain on the budget though.

NCVSTROM is just jeaolus!

Those Leo Vince's will look and sound great, even if they end up making the bike run like crap. ;)

Spend the extra $300 on the PC3, since you can modify settings later without having to find access to another Yoshi.

I emailed jonofchar and he said the yosh box was ready to ship out. I was thinking there was a long wait for it. I think I will give that a try before dropping the money on the Power Commander just yet.

Enigma - I almost got smushed today. I rode to work and as I swung a little bit to the left to make the right into the parking space some jerk tried to speed by me on my right. I caught a glimpse of them quick enough to stop, but I was dissapointed that I was so flustered I forgot to give him a good blast of the new Stebel!

Well, I do not think not having to mess with the system to get the bike to run right constitutes jealousy, I do admit the sound is pretty good! I think if it were me though I would opt for the Two Brothers set up. But, I could not justify it with the WEE because I do not feel the cost justifies a minimal increase in performance. As opposed to past bikes, I chose this model in part because I can just gas & go for the most part. No garage, no time and no money definitely factor into it as well.

Speaking of the box.. I actually the the loaner here in Ga. I haven't heard from John yet, but I'll confirm with him, and get it out ASAP!

BTW, glad you made it to work OK.. Always gotta watch out for the idiots..!

Mr. Mac, I told John I would wait and see how the bike ran after the install (next Monday night) before requesting the box. She runs beautiful right now so who knows if I will need it for sure. I'll be able to tell more next week. We are supposed to be getting some good warm temps so hopefully I can get some seat time in and see how she does.

Good deal!

I'm kind of anxious to see how mine runs when it warms up some more also. I've experimented with the low-end settings a bit, starting at +1, 1.5, & 2.0. At 2, it seemed to be too rich so I ended up back at +1.0. Sunday was around 60deg. F or so here, and it was just about right. Honestly, the biggest improvement was after I did the TBS and properly adjusted the idle. Otherwise it was running pretty darn good. I think the best thing I can do now is put some miles on it..!

I just finished doing those things last month. I couldn't really tell any difference as my bike ran great to start with. As my first bike I wanted to get familiar with it so I tore it down, changed the tires, changed the brake and coolant fluids, did a TBS, changed the spark plugs, installed a K&N Filter, and installed a Beaver fuse box and Stebel Nautilus horn.

Well I took the old pipes off last night in preparation for installing the Leos today (UPS delivered two days late). I fired it up with no mufflers in place and I think I made every dog bark in a 10 mile radius. I saw neighbors come out with pitchforks and torches so I shut it down quick. :p

I got the new pipes on this afternoon without any problems. Fired her up and she has a nice low grumble now. I took her for a quick run around the town and without the quiet tips in it is quite loud in 1st thru 3rd and not a noticable difference over stock at highway speeds. I'm sure I will leave the tips out for now and place them back in for any group rides etc.

I didn't notice any performance problems but more seat time will be needed. Since there isn't a long wait on the Yosh Box I think I will wait until an issue arises. I had some chudder issues before installing a 16T front sprocket and all that went away.
