Not sure where to post, but I figure some in our long of limb community will be able to help. I need a new rain jacket.

I am 6'4", 17"x37" shirt. With weight Loss, I am now XLT in size.

Can someone recommend a source of good xlt moto rain gear?

I like FirstGear products in part because of their tall sizes, but those sizes appear not to be available in their rain gear.

I feel your pain… 36” inseam and 36” sleeve length.

I bought a Tour Master like the following;

Tour Master Sentinel Rain Suit Jacket - RevZilla

Took it, along with a couple of black nylon gear bags bought at the local discount store, to an alteration place and they removed the cuffs and added about 2” between the sleeve and the cuff as shown below.

I also have them add a couple of inches length to my riding pants but they just extend them with a little added Velcro for a closure as shown below.

The FirstGear tall size riding jackets work well for me in the sleeve with no additional alterations.

How symmetric. By comparison, I have short little legs - 33" inseam. Flying must be even greater torture for you than it is for me. Might I suggest Paul Frederick (Men's Clothing, Dress Shirts, Dress Pants, Suits, Dress Shoes - Paul Fredrick) as a source for properly sized shirts.

Like you, I find the FG tall sizes work well. As an adult, I have committed myself not to compromise on clothing fit. But, I am thinking, in retrospect, that the XL FG rain gear might not be too bad a compromise. In cooler weather I will be wearing a properly fitting Kilimanjaro. On warmer days, wet wrists aren't that big a deal. Your cuff extensions are a great fallback idea, since I now have found a good, local alterations shop, Helga's (who is actually an Indian guy :confused:). Thanks.

This reminds me of the time stopped on the BRP when I saw a guy fly by wearing a wildly flapping orange rain pancho. Looked like he was on fire. :yikes:

Looking forward to seeing what other suggestions come up.

Newenough.com (I refuse to use their idiotic generic new name) has a section devoted to those humanoids of nonstandard construction. Here's their tall jackets and pants section...

They also have absolutely stellar service, so I bet an emailed query or a chat request would be answered knowledgeably and promptly.

If it is rain gear and you are wearing it over the riding gear,
Cabelas and Bass Pro both have tall, and/or big sizing.
I wear rain gear designed for fishing. If you have been in a pro bass boat, you know the speeds they reach are the legal limits on the highway.
36 inseam and 36 sleeve
