Black paint has scrubbed off the bar ends, looks like hell. Was going to replace them but dealer says that the stock design is minimising vibration in the grips. Anyone used an aftermarket replacement or the smaller buttons? Or just paint the stock ones?

Hey I just found these at Twisted throttle and thought they might be something you are looking for. The stock ends minimise vibrations by adding mass to an oscilating system. these add more mass and should make the bars even smoother than they are already. Though I am sure that you could repaint or powdercoat your stckers for alot less.

Hi

Anybody found anything new about bar ends. Now that I'm riding again, the weathered/scrubbed bar ends look a bit tacky. The Twisted Throttle link isn't there anymore.

Suggestions? Anybody got similar problems with the DL1000?

Get a little black satin paint and let em have it. You can leave them in place, sand any scratches and shoot em. IMHO the satin looks better than Suzuki glossy.

I popped them out and the RH side (throttle side) looked a bit rusty on the inside. Cleaned out the inside of the bars and replaced the ends with new ones from Suzuki.

They didn't cost that much, but big visual improvement. Just need to change the chain now.

I've got some interesting corrosion on the engine casing near the rear brake lever. Dealer has photographed for Suzuki, just need to wait now until they decide if they'll replace it under warranty (although warranty now expired). Will keep you posted.

No warranty. Will need to rub the casing down and spray paint. It's apparently a very expensive engine casing (compared with other models).

Throw up some pics of that corrosion if you can! I know others will be interested in preventing it. :wink:

Sorry, the ends were dumped later that day. If you have any concerns about interior corrosion in the bars, they ends drop out pretty quick with a standard screwdriver. Even if you just wiggle them out a bit to have a quick look.
