Bike would not start plus I noticed the headlights were not on. I did have some trouble with the starter button a few weeks back but thought I fixed it. I'm hoping its the battery but I doubt it. I did notice the lights flickered on a few times but fizzled out quickly. Any idea's? Starter took a dump or some whacky wiring issues with the starter to the from the switch or the headlights.

I had the same issue. Pulled switch housing and "tried" cleaning it. Bike started, but lights were intermittent. Bought a new switch housing and while waiting for it to arrive I did a more thorough cleaning. Now I have a brand new switch housing sitting in the garage just in case.

All I need is the piece that holds the brass nubs with the spring inside. Where can I buy one of those? I don't need the whole thing. My bike is a 2008 650, does it have to be a 2008 piece?

New internal switch parts are not available separately. You'd need to find a used 2007 or later unit.
