Hi All,
I just got my new Vstrom1000 today....its blue black and i had to ride it from the shop to my house which is good 35 miles...so i had the first taste of the strom......but while i was on the interstate there was a lot of wind and the stock wind sheilds didnt give me any protection from the wind. i would like to know abt good windsheilds which can be good to look through (i am 5.8''). I have read a few articles on the zero gravity windsheilds but i am also considering the tall windsheild from the factory...just would like to know which one will be better for me.....
i would like to sit behind the windsheild and have as low noise as possible.....
thanks in advance...

Opinions on this topic are about as varied as are the riders who offer them. The only point of agreement ssems to be that we don't like the stock shield. The Cee Bailey tall replacement shield was perfect for me--it eliminated head buffeting and offers great body protection. For me, it made the the VStrom a whole new ride. MRA-Klement, http://www.mra.de/English/PRODUCTS.HTM offers a wide range of windshields from originally-shaped to "Variotouringscreens" with additional wind channel that is nicely controllable. Such screens can be adjusted by angle or height according to requirements of the rider. Moreover, most screens are available in various tints & at decent price.

It took me a year to decide on a windshield and I finally saved enough to get the windstrom. I went to NC two weeks ago and met Eric and got the sheild. Its superb. I've never looked through a sheild before so it took me some getting used to but I had no buffetting at any speed. It was well worth the money.

Hey Compared to What-
Great ride report and pictures. I noticed that it looks like you have a throttle meister on there. How do you like it? I's it easy to use?
thanks, Randy

Can someone send a link to the laminar lip I've heard about in the windshield threads?
Thanks
