Here's why I just ordered a Zumo 450 for my 2007 650...

I was trying to make my way around four area volcanoes in one day (living in the Pacific Northwest has its advantages) and ended up in this predicament. The road signs weren't any help and none of the maps I had included roads this small and insignificant (this road was paved but had been torn up for construction).

Granted, most GPS devices won't tell you when some forest service road is out of order or not, but it would have told me where I was so I could have planned an alternate way out.

Don't buy the 450....the 550 is a better deal.

I bought the 450 and wish I'd read more about what the kits come with. The 550 comes with the car kit, which costs a whole lot more to buy separately than the price difference in the units.

I thought about the 550 but don't intend to use a GPS in my vehicle; I've never needed one there, and lately I've been racking up the miles on my bike 3x as fast as in my car.

UPDATE: I got the Zumo 450 for $403 from Amazon.com (actually, one of their resellers, Electronica Direct). Plus $9.95 shipping.
