One of those days....:headbang:
Had the bike fall over in my trailer while I was tying it down and lost the right rear turnsignal.
After doing a :jawdrop: seeing what Suzuki gets for one I started looking for something more reasonably priced, preferably LED. Yes- I'm aware of the flasher issues going that route...

I see many for sale but it is impossible to tell from photos and poor descriptions which are more flexible.

So who has found decent turnsignals that have a more flexible stalk, and, for the rear, preferably shorter? Oh and that aren't $60 apiece!!

I'd like to know how many Strom OEM signal light assemblies have been sold as replacements. I think I've bought three. :headbang:

I've considered the Extreme Dual Sport Tuff Lites for my KLR. Spendy, but pretty much bullet proof.

However, the company making them seems to have disappeared. Their web site isn't working, and they've gone silent on other media.

It may be that $60 - $70 for a pair of turn signals was just too damn much.

Right now, my KLR is wearing a set of generic Chinesium LED turn signals with short rubber stalks. They can bend 90 degrees with no trouble, but they're small enough they don't even touch the ground when the bike is on its side. I installed an electronic LED blinker and diodes on the dash indicator light and they work great.

I actually managed to glue my broken one back together to get me by until I replace it- both the lens and the housing were in multiple pieces.
I was kind of surprised to see each turn signal was different- that's right 4 different part numbers!
Someone wasnt thinking in Suzuki's engineering department- done properly ONE could have been used for all of them:yesnod:

I could not find flexible ones so I fitted ones that brake real easy but are dirt cheap to replace.

I carry a couple with me on multiday rides and can change one out in 3 or 4 minutes.

I purchased 16 of them and they cost me $1.65 each landed at my door.

They are not LED but I do run a LED flasher unit, I have not tried them with the OME flasher.

I'm doing a bunch of work on my 2003 DL1000 and decided to change out my broken rear turn signals as well. After lots of research, I went with what a lot of other strommers choose - Buell turn signals. Here is a link to a very good thread:

Buell turnsignal installation how to!

Just make sure you order the correct part numbers. Here's what I got, and they work just fine - very flexible, and they look good. The LH signal is different from the RH signal - so it's two different part numbers:

Buell Firebolt OEM Turn Signal (Right Rear or Left Front) [Y0503.02A8] - Buell Firebolt OEM Turn Signal (Right Rear or Left Front) > Firebolt Details > Buell Firebolt

Buell Firebolt OEM Turn Signal (Left Rear or Right Front) [Y0504.02A8] - Buell Firebolt OEM Turn Signal (Left Rear or Right Front) > Firebolt Details > Buell Firebolt

All in, including shipping, was $49.97. Not cheap, but cheaper (and better) than OEM.

I think you guys will be happy with the Buells. I just installed them on my '03 DL1000 the other day and they look great and work perfectly with the included 10W bulbs. Take another look at the thread I posted earlier, but I believe Suzuki went from 10W to 25W bulbs in '04, so they'll blink fast if you have an '04 or newer. You can either live with it, or change out to 25W bulbs. Also - remember to buy the correct 8mm nuts and washers, as they aren't included. I got mine at Home Depot - no problem. Good luck!

being a person who usually keeps bikes past their expiration date, I have found that rubber stalked turn signals will eventually just break off on their own. All 4 have done that on my 2003 DL. It also happen on my old V65 Magna and a few other bikes over the years. my fix is to support them with light sheet metal and then tape around them. Hey I'm cheap and it works. A little unsightly but it matches the the patina of the bike. New turn signals would eventually just break off again!

The following link: http://www.dl650.org/photos/pbsoluces/Alain27/clignos/shortern stalks or google " Alain27 - Raccourcir les clignotants avant pour qu'ils ne touchent pas en cas de chute", shows a simple and cost effective mod to shorten the existing indicator stems. The pix explain the full process and if a write-up is required in conjunction to the pix, use the page translation.
