I had the front sprocket cover off of my 2014 DL650 this afternoon to clean things up, and I found this 1.5 inch long rubber block stuck amid the gooey mix of sand and chain oil that tends to collect under the cover. Anyone know what it's from? I'm assuming it's from the bike and not something that got sucked into that cavity by the chain (although I suppose that's not impossible?)

BTW, I had the cover off because I was installing AdventureTech's peg lowering kit and thought I might as well clean under this cover as long as the shift linkage is out of the way. Fantastic quality kit, great instructions online, and I really like the way the lowered pegs feel.

Thanks everyone. I had the plastics off and tank up recently for a coolant flush, so it's probably from one of those places. Damnit. I don't want to take that stuff apart again. Love this bike; hate removing all the plastic to do anything substantial.
