Just changing the rear shock on my DL1000 - no worries till it comes to actually getting the shock out. The shock doesn't want to come out of the top mount. It will move freely side-to-side and a little bit up and down, but will not come out. It's as if there's a bush or something in there catching it on one side - seems to be stuck more on the right than the left. But I can't see anything like that in the exploded drawings.

I've whacked it a bit with a rubber mallet, still no go. Really not fond of hitting things too hard if I don't know why it's stuck! Any ideas?

thanks

Several of us have noted the same thing; mine is a 650. The mount is tight. I needed a pry bar to get my shock out. Removing a very small amount of material off the bushing let it go back in OK.
