Ok guys i need to ask you your opinion now !

Any fast guys on here that push there DL-1000s pretty good

Im sure there is

What tires do you like the best and have tried as far as traction.

I dont really care about wear , but i do like the stones for the money !

207s ... 010s...others ?

Anyone tried a 120 in the front yet on the stock rim ?

I may soon...he he

I will be running a 160 rear though im sure

Thanks Dale

I tried the 160......Unfortunately it's too wide for the rear rim width. The last 3/8" on either side is unusable. The rim pinches the carcass too much and the tread on the edge ends up being wasted. Basically, when the bike is straightup, the outer edge of the tread is pretty close to 90 degrees from the pavement plane. In order to use all of the 160 you would have to widen the rim at least 1/2".

Yeah maybe and i understand all this part, i have used a 160-60 on Bandit 600 rims without a problem and they came with a 150 stock. But will need to measure it to compare i guess. Many tires do vary as well as far as the profile.

But you may be right on also on this one tooooo!

Thanks Dale

I trashed my last 150 o2o on the way back from the Reno StromFest a copuple of weeks ago and couldn't find the correct size in lovely downtown Fresnol. I ended up with (again) a 160 on the back. It works but like I said, Can't use that last little bit of tread on either side like on the 150s.

old thread, but maybe Dale will see it. i'm wondering what you ended up with for tire selection. and if it worked out. btw, the SV650's come stock with 160 rears. so maybe that rim would be better option than a Kosman weld-up. though they did an awesome job on my VMax wheels! hoipe to hear back.
