I may have stripped my pan (totally forgot i was working with aluminum and i was a little heavy handed)

I'm going to get a timesert for it, but i can't find the plug size.

I can't say for certain. In the service manual I only see tightening torque specs for the plug, size not listed

My notes say M12 x 1.25. Make sure the new drain plug head clears the outside bend in the pan. I made that mistake.

You have a 650. The 1000 uses an M14x1.25

You can also buy self tapping drain plug inserts. They typically have an inner that's smaller but they are easier to use.

i.e. LOTS and LOTS of people have made this mistake and there's a premade cure ;)

Thanks for the confirmation, I just spent 20 bucks on a caliper to make sure.

I'm going to do a writeup on the time sert install. There doesn't seem to be one for this bike.
