I was looking at the underside of my 2013 recently purchased used Wee and found this "bar" (pictured) which had taken a big hit and was twisted. It attached on the right side of the bike (the single hole) vie the bolt that holds the exhaust hanger. The other end passed right under the exhaust pipes and was attached on the left side via the two bolts that hold the kickstand from the inside. Since it looked pretty nasty I thought maybe it should be replaced. I have searched a couple OEM parts suppliers and didn't find it listed on any of the diagrams. I am suspecting it is some kind of aftermarket piece designed to add off-road protection to the underside. The two other holes are threaded and looked like they would have been attachment points for something. Obviously I removed it but I need to know if this is a necessary part before I take it for a ride. As you can see it is made of some rough heavy duty steel. Anyone know what it is?

It looks like a skid plate bracket from a bike that suffered skid plate damage. You could remove it....BUT.....most of the brackets I have seen, come with longer bolts to replace the stock ones. If you pull the bracket and reuse the longer bolts, they may mess up threads in the frame or bottom out into something.

1) I would find somebody with your bike and check the original bolts versus your bolts for length. Then trim the bolts down to the correct length if necessary.

or

2) You could buy new bolts from Suzuki

Thanks for that. Very good advice. Yes I assumed it was probably a remnant from an old skid plate. Will definitely take a look at the bolts.
