So I have a nifty '05 Wee that I really like. It came with Givi racks and SW Motech crash bars among other farkles. On the Givi racks, the PO made mounts for Pelican 1550 cases that he also included in the sale. I thought that is exactly what I wanted for the Wee: Caribou or Caribou-like side cases.

Since I decided not to get rid of my ST1100, I have no need for another bike with side cases. I like the Wee a whole lot better without the cases on the sides too. I think I want to put one of the 1550's on the back as a top box and have no side cases. As such, I can't really think of a lot of reasons to keep the Givi racks on the Wee either. I was wondering if there's any sort of fall over protection available for the wee without side case racks? It is even necessary with the SW Motech crash bars on the front?

Dan Vesel's soft luggage guard bar (ably assisted by the centrestand's tang) did a good job in protecting the left rear from damage during a speedy slither down the road.
The bar has a slight flexibility that helps it's resilience. [Some scratches, of course.]

I don't have a report on the right side yet. Hope that remains so.

Hmmm, I like that idea. I think I can make simple tubular crash bars similar to that design too. I doubt I'll need something to hold soft bags there. I just want something to save the tail section when I drop the wee on it's side. To the drawing board!

Blair (svracingparts.com) has sliders for stroms. The rear slider can be put in the place of the passenger pegs for more protection.
