Don't feel bad, I've been watching the 'worst drivers' vids on utube. Unless I find some good quasi science or sci-fi.:nerd:

I guess when you are a denizen of the desert drifting in a straight line is big time?
I only watched a few moments and got bored.
The local mountains roads tell tales of the night time drifters with skid marks, crosses when they go over the side and car parts strewn on the side of the road from missed turns.

Yes..... I feel better now. Thank you! lol I'd ride if not for the salt on the roadways! Scared to death of corrosion of all the little exposed parts that any of which fails, strands me (hopefully) many miles from home. Daydreaming of riding out to the Rockies early this summer, maybe take 1-2 months, 200-300 miles per day. Secondary roads, of course. And daydreams are often the beginning of a true life adventure......
Is it April yet?

The fails, how can you not be entertained? The big equipment is so interesting. Amazing at how much money goes rolling down the hill the wrong way.
I'll give the Occupation a go.
This place is very helpful with fine suggestions.

Go for the trip to the Rockies! My son has been out that way in his Jeep a couple of times and loves it out there.
He's talked me into a 2 week plus trip out there in September, we're going to ride part of the New Mexico and Colorado BDR's (Backcountry Discovery Routes). Should be a great trip, I haven't been west of Ohio since the 80's.

Hank,
I spent the summer of '16 and '18 in the Tetons! We've got a son who lives in Jackson, WY. Dragged the bike out on a trailer. Absolutely love riding out west, and hiking/camping the Tetons, Targhee, Yellowstone. Check out our Mohawk Trail State Forest Motorcycle Camping Weekend here in the New England forum..... You're in Massachusetts..... join us! :)

problem is that it used to be about sailing, skill, etc . Now it's about who has the best futuristic engineers and most money to build the somewhat kinda sailing boat. Still fun to watch though :)

Oh I think it's still about sailing skills. That come from behind down 8-1 wasn't technology- it was skillful sailors learning what their craft could do and improving from flying only downwind to flying the entire course. ( for those not knowing - it means the boats are entirely up on the hydrofoils so reducing drag.

And Russell Coutts winning the America's Cup in Alinghi for a landlocked country was not tech. Choosing the crew, training them and the strategies at the start line plus reading the wind on the course, when to blink, when to hold the line ...all sailing skill.......and putting legs to work instead of arms ...brilliant.

I love the drama and the politics ...The richest in the world funding the best sailors in the world to build insanely fast water craft.

It's gone from watching paint dry to F1

They have to time their start at speed and these things turn and accelerate like crazy.

Tune YouTube into America's Cup? GREAT IDEA! Will check it out. I was crew on a racing J24 in Key West, Florida in the late '70's. Race days with very light to no wind.... just a drinking party. Rounding a mark in a fresh breeze with competition...lot's of fun! Thanks for the viewing idea. :)
Ride safe, if you can get out to ride.
