Just an FYI for a little preventative maintenance which may save you a big hassle...

When I arrived home from a ride this week, the lock cylinder of my Suzuki OEM 48 litre topbox was spinning freely in both directions. This left the box locked shut, and also locked to the bike.

There is a nut inside which holds a plastic cam in place on the end of the lock cylinder. The nut came loose, fell off, and also disappeared.

I would suggest that anyone with the OEM topbox would be wise to apply some thread-locker (Loctite) to the threads, to make sure the cam retaining nut does not work itself loose and fall off.
