I have heard that an increase to 17 teeth in the front will improve fuel economy. Has anyone tried this. I ride mostly rode. i get about 50 mpg and would like 55 at 70mph. Is this posible? Your comments are appreciated

There's a rider in LA with a 17 tooth countershaft sprocket and Metzeler ME880 tires running at the maximum allowed pressure (55psi), who claims he regularly gets 52-55 mph cruising on the freeway at 75-90 mph indicated. If you're interested in best gas mileage, this is the way to go.

thanks for the info. I am on a 650. I looked more closely at some of the other threads and saw that some other guys are gearing it up too.
