After advice from wise members of this forum, I fabricated a voltmeter to monitor health of newly replaced magneto.
I've gone to local electronic hobby store, picked up a tiny voltmeter. Waterproofed it via heatshrink, added some longer leads and connected to main power source in fuse box.
Viola! Now I can see what's cooking inside that magneto.

Not in direct sunlight, otherwise it is pretty bright.
At night it at the bottom of my field of view so it doesn't bother me.

Any dedicated electronic shop (not RadioShack) would have variety of voltmeters. I picked the smallest I could find.
It was $5, added 3 feet of leads, some heatshrink. Perhaps an hour of my time.
(+) to fuse box voltage supply. (-) to the battery negative post. (never use chassis as ground). Very simple.
LED voltmeter offers instantaneous readout of Volts, not a LED indicator.
Also, I am not familiar with Signal Dynamics stuff. I cannot comment on how it works or how it installs on a bike.

Cheers...
