vibration on givi bars 2018 vstrom 650 due to loose o ring

I have a loose o ring between the 2 bars behind the front wheel on my givi bars. There is about 1 or 2 mm of play and it rattles really loud at 5,000 rpm. The bolt below the washer with the spacer is as tight as it can go. Any ideas on how to make that o ring secure and is there any safety issues with it being a little loose? I was thinking a shorter spacer or a bigger o ring.

It was a very long time ago I did mine and I think I remember shortening up the tube that the bolt runs through to get things a little tighter.

It is hard to tell from your pic ,but the o rings should sit at the shoulder of the plastic spacer, not be pulled into the tube.
I think the design of that spacer was changed,on my '22 the spacer is more square than yours, again difficult to tell.
Electrical tape round the spacer has helped for some ,as has silocone sealer .
It is weird , a LOT of people have this problem ,so it is a THING , and some don't?
Mine have been on 25,000 miles and never vibrated.......
I have the slider puck on the top bar not the middle, 'cos I fitted highway pegs in that position and have smallbags mounted. This MAY be a difference, but I had the bars on without pegs/bags for a while and no vibes.
The fact yours are vibrating points to movement that may have damaged the o rings so they cannot do their job?....

Gert, on your diagram, I don't have the 2 - #6 rubber o rings. I only have the #3. I assume those #6 are rubber at least. can you tell me if they are in fact rubber? I guess they were not installed when they bars were put on. (i just bought the bike and the givi bars were already on) I could go and get some and try to put them on either side to keep the #3 part from moving. The bar is 25 mm wide so maybe find some that are like 23 mm or something close. If that does not work, I am gonna try your shortening #9 by 2mm like you did. hopefully just adding those rubber $6 o rings will fix it. this is super helpful. so thank you so much.

Many just fill the pipe with silicone
