My DL1000 just had all the wireing up to the handlebars cut. Before I start spliceing everything back togather, is the computer on this model so sensitive it will see the splices as electrical resistance and not work correctly?

Sorry to hear that. Good splicing will not cause a problem. There is a 100 Ohm resistor in the ignition switch that needs to be sensed but a splice will not change that.

Thanks. I think I'll solder and heat srink. That should be the least resistance. It a whole lot cheaper than buying a new harness.

Sorry to hear about the damage Dingo. Some solder and shrink tubing should fix it right up with negligible resistance change.

I went to school in Tucson and had a couple bicycles stolen while I was living there. I'm just curious, did the vandalism happen anywhere near campus?

You have to wonder what sort of numbnuts does that sort of thing. Bring back hanging they won't do it again!! The solder and heatshrink sounds the way to go.
