I dropped my bike off at a local guy who's a Suzuki/KTM mech by day, and race engine builder by night. He also does work on bikes at night..

Anyway, he called to tell me that my valves were all good except one being .0005" out of spec.. (Yeah, he's that anal) So he's put them all in the exact middle of spec..

Since I bought the bike, I never thought the TB balance was right and I was correct.. He said it was "a ways" off, and is now set perfectly..

So, tonight I drop my KLR off for a valve adjustment and pick up the Strom.. I'm really looking forward to seeing what the bike is like when it's tuned correctly.

I had this done at 2500 miles.. I should be good for a while.

Well, I picked the bike up and all I can say is that it was a very well spent $200.. :D

The bike has had a bit of a growl under acceleration that didn't seem quite right, and shifting was a little rough.. Both items are now gone!!!

Now to slap the luggage back on, pack it up, and head to Ontario this weekend!!

Glad to hear the bike is running well.

Just a word of advice on your Ontario trip this weekend. Its a long weekend and the roads will be full of crazy people, driving like idiots, much of the time very slowly (because of all the other idiots on the road). Be careful.

What, like it's a holiday or something?? Happy Canada Day!!! (in a couple days)

Thanks for the advice!! I've played the holiday travel game before and I tend to take backroads. I actually won't be in Canada much, and will be in smalltown UP most of the trip.

My girlfriend has never been to Canada, so we're spending the night in the Soo on the 2nd.. We'll wander around and give her a small taste of Ontario before heading back on the 3rd to Manistique, MI and back home on the 4th (avoiding Wisconsin Interstate the entire time)..

You have a safe holiday weekend, too EVERYONE!!!

Ah, THAT part of Ontario. Shouldn't be too bad up there.

Enjoy it! Next time try going the other way. Cross over at Sault Sainte Marie and head East. Come back South on Manitoulin Island and take the ferry to Tobermory. Run South to Port Huron and you're in Michigan.

I've done that route, kinda.. Ran that way, but kept heading east to Toronto and then all the way over to eastern NY..

I've been all over Ontario.. I like it there.. :D

This pic is of me at Shannonville Motorsports Park in Bellvelle.. I was at the National BMW Rally in Trenton at the time..

I used to get to ON about every other month for service work, too..

And yes, I like vinegar on my fries..

Good thing you didn't go too far East. End up in Quebec and they'll put cheese curds and gravy on your fries.
