using silicon spray to maintain rubber?

Hi,

I wonder if anyone else uses silicon spray to maintain the life of rubber components (hoses, tubes, seals, etc).

Any use in applying on a regular basis?

I use it on most everything I want to keep looking new, it prevents UV damage. I also spray it onmy calipers after washing for a new look, drag the brake for a while though to burn it off the rotor. I also spray it on all the rubber lines between the jugs. One note though. Try not to spray it directly on plastic as it will stain it, wipe it on instead and be sure the plastic has not been in the hot sun prior to application. Its great for a new look, brake lines can really shine.
