Some route planning tips for those who are interested:

If you haven't noticed, Google Maps has a really cool new feature for route planning. You can 'drag' a route around to set waypoints between your start and destination. Now there is a way to export that route and convert it to a TomTom Itinerary (.itn) file. For further instructions, go here (and be sure to read them carefully!):

There is also a shareware program called ITNconv that will convert a saved route between many different formats including Streets &Trips (.est file), TomTom, Garmin, KML, and other navigation program route formats.. It can be found here (beware, it is in French):

I've only played with these briefly, so YMMV..

If you have any other cool tips for navigation and planning, please post them here!

Happy riding!
