17 days, 12,000 miles

I got to the start of the Haul Road, and from seeing the trucks coming back and 3 bikers who were heading north on it, but turned around because the road was so bad, well... I didn't try it.
Further reports from other bikers told me my decision was correct.

Still, I had a great ride.

My 650a used up a chain, which I had replaced on the return route in Sturgis... they did not have a rear sprocket at that time, but I made it home fine.

Wow you do have a butt made of iron, did you get to enjoy the scenery and fun twisty roads at all? You have my respect, no way I could do or would want to do something like that, glad you are back safely.

Like you said, you had fun! I have not done it, but would like to try in a couple of years when I retire. Have you done the 50cc yet? That one is in my sights soon I think.

"Still, I had a great ride"

Better to have loved and lost than to have never loved at all.
Someone famous said that and it wasn't Groucho Marx. Well tried. More than I want to.
Would love to sit around the fire and hear your stories!
