I just got back from an excellent 8 day trip from Ontario to Waynesboro by truck / trailer ( 5 bikes , a 12 - 14 hour drive ) , then south on the BRP , stayed 2 nights at the Tail of the Dragon . Some very bad fog and Rain on the BRP , though when the weather cleared , excellent views . The Tail is quite an experience , the Cherohalla is an amazing road .

I took off on my own for a few days , and rode the BRP solo from Boone N.C. back to Waynesboro , then on to Romney , W.V . in one excellent , long day . Next day , rode Skyline dr from north to south . It cost $20 USD to enter the park , lots of traffic , very low speed . I stopped in frustration at Skyland resort : excellent food and beer , very pricy accomodations , killer view across the Shenandoah valley from my private deck . I left the next morning at 5 am , had the road to myself ( many deer ) , amazing sunrise over my left shoulder , immaculate road , a magical experience .

Yeah, I think there are some other roads down in South Texas I'll probably take a visit to more then anything. The BRP I just kind of want to do for the scenery but I like the idea of heading home, unpacking some stuff from the week ride, and then taking off for a few days down to the Kerrville Texas area. There is plenty of riding down there to keep a person occupied and the roads are a lot wider with a lot more visibility, also having lived in the area there is a higher percentage of roads that I know, which is always nice when it comes to point and shoot riding, and also allows me to ride those roads and avoid all the weekend touristry that clogs up those roads. I was watching one of Tim Kreitz's last videos and you could tell it was a weekend day because it looked like every person in the world was down in that area on those Spiders and at one point they just pulled over and rested while all the wanna be urbanites, hipsters, and retirees cruised through on those three wheel abominations.
