I mounted a top box on top of the luggage rack and this is when I realized that anything on the tail end of the bike takes a beating, somehow any bump on the road or vibration gets amplified there. A little bit like being on a ship. The less shaking is near the middle section of it. If you are at the bow or the stern the amplitude is much worse. I did put a 3/16" mm rubber sheet between the rack and the top box on mine. It probably alleviate some of the vibration, but it is not a perfect solution.

Here are some picks of how I went about to install it. I used some remnant of a stainless steel plate of about 14 Ga. Or ~ 2.2mm which I shaped to fit under the Suzuki rack, to clamp all the ( slightly recessed) ribs in one uniform flat surface. Like a giant washer if you will... Then, install...
