Just bought a mounting from Twisted Throttle to mount my TomTom Rider just below the wind shield. It is the perfect viewing location, but the mounting has no rubber cushion, and the GPS vibrates heavily on the road. That lead to the GPS popping out of the cradle, and without the safely line I had installed, I would have lost it for good. I would like to know if anyone has used the mounting from Touratech and what comments they have to make on that item. Or if anyone is using the Twisted Throttle, what modification have you made to it.
Look forward to your replies.

I have mine mounted on the handlebar, works great, sure it's not in my eyeline and I have to look down a little to see it but it's easy to reach. I'll post a picture tomorrow if I"m not riding it :)

Thanks for your reply. What kind of mounting are you using, the one provided by TomTom? Trying to post a picture, but can't figure out how to do it.....

It took a while to get to it (been out riding) but here's the pics.

I used the standard mount that came with the unit, this seems solid enough.
The pics were taken from eye height to give you an idea of how it looks while riding.
I'm going to connect it to this connector when the plug I ordered from the local dealer arrives (Suzuki # 36852-06G00) it takes 4 - 8 weeks for spares to come from Japan to Aus.-

I used the cable provided by TomTom to wire my unit directly to the battery. It was not too difficult to slide the cable on the under side of the tank and bring it to the battery. Do you have any vibration problem on the GPS? Mine popped out from the cradle many times, and withouth the safety line I had mounted, I would have lost the unit. I'll try to put some pictures later.

I have my Garmin 2610 on the Twisted Throttle mount that installs just behind the windshield. The 2610 bracket attaches to the mount without any vibration damping washers and I get no appreciable vibration on any typical US highway or local road. Rough roads are a problem, but it's very stable up to at least 85mph.

Is your front wheel balanced?

I haven't had it pop out yet, but I don't frequent dirt roads either and the black stuff here is pretty good. It was mounted up next to the clutch master cyl and used to cop some viabration so I moved it down close to the handlebar mounts which helped reduce that.

Got my new Metzeler Tourance mounted today, therefore, balancing has been taken care of. I didn't do any dirt road, just went to the Smoky Mountains and Blue Ridge Parkway recently. But a lot of ripple on the road. I called Tomtom and explained the situation. They asked me to return the entire unit and they will send me a new one free of charge. That's called customer service....
