Just got a 2004 dl1000, and it is needing a new front tire. It has an Anakee2 on the back. I need to watch my funds, so I was thinking of putting a Shinko on front instead of a anakee2.
Has anybody used these with success or even another model Shinko that is more street oriented?
I live in northern cal., and do 95% street riding.
Thanks in advance for all the inputs.

Still running a Shinko on the front, already swapped out the rear. Good for a budget tire, sounds like it should meet your needs. :beatnik:

Use the Google Search box, center of the forum mainpage......try "Shinko" search, read the posts, and we'll see you back here next week sometime!! :biggrinjester:

Joking aside, there are lots of discussions already concerning the Shinkos.....also try "THE TIRE THREAD".

yes they are a great tire. I am still on my 1st front w/10k and my 2nd rear with zero issues. the rear got me 6k mi. that was the same as I got with my road attacks that cost much more.

I had 18,000 miles on the front when I changed it out about 6 weeks ago. It still had a lot of tread left, but I was heading out on a 2500 mile trip and thought it best to change it first. I truly believe it would have lasted though.

Street use?

As I told another...I ride mostly street. Are these noisy or rough(vibrations)? Or should I look for maybe another tire? Maybe a shinko 712 or 230?

Btw...I did use the search engine on here...it works ok, but not great.
And the Tire Thread is great if you want to read through thousands of post. which I don't. Lol

Anyway, thanks for your inputs.

Running Shinko 705's on mine. Don't have much to compare them to on this bike except the really bald trailwings that came off. I really like these though, the bike is very "flickable" with these tires, (as much so as a big tall bike can be) good feeback, good grip. So far so good! They do seem kinda noisy, but they are really new (500 miles or less). $.02
