I installed a set of TechSpec Gripster tank grips on my 2013 dl650. The 3 piece kit comes with the two side pieces and the middle piece. I didn't need the middle piece, so I cut it into two triangles to fit where my upper thighs contact below the seat. The installation was quick and easy. No real difference riding leaned way over, but they really help when standing on the pegs going over bumpy surfaces.

Coincidentally, I just posted about these on a different thread. There are several brands available. The ones I have are made by TechSpec and are the "medium traction" material. They protect the tank, as they should but I always have them because they provide a 4th point of contact with the bike. Hands, butt, feet and knees. Having grip with the knees reduces pain and fatigue up and down the rest of the body on long hauls, IMHO. And when canyon carving griping with your knees leaves your arms and hands to more important duties while hard braking.
