In a significant departure from the SV engine, which uses cast iron cylinder sleeves, the DL650 uses Suzuki's proprietary SCEM (Suzuki Composite Electro-chemical Material) plated cylinders, a race-proven nickel-phosphorus-silicon-carbide coating for reduced weight and improved heat transfer, allowing for tighter and more efficient piston-to-cylinder clearance[4], similar to a Nikasil coating.

I'm still confused. Sorry, don't mean to beat the dead horse.

The horses are all dead. I guess it means that these engines use plated cylinders. And they are robust as hell.
If you need to get them fixed or replated it's going to cost about $500.

Let me know if you see anymore horses that need a beating. :beatdeadhorse5::beatdeadhorse5::beatdeadhorse5:
