Hello Stormtroopers,
1st post
I just bought a 2006 DL650, however it’s missing the windscreen. Is there any specific ones to buy, some better than others?
Anyone have one they are willing to part with?

Thanks, Jeff

As regards the screen query, try using the "Search Community" at the top of the page to search for similar threads on screens.
Windscreens like seats are very subjective to the end user. If you ask 10 people what the "best" is you'll get at least 20 answers.

I currently run R1200GS's and most people complain about the OEM seat being uncomfortable. Personally I find it as about as comfortable as the Sargent seat most replace it with. Same bike most fawn about the Givi AirFlow windscreen as being a amazing upgrade over stock virtually eliminating buffeting, I've had 3 different GS's with Givi AirFlow and find them no better than OEM. In all three instances I have removed them to sell off and went back to stock as the money they brought were better than the buffeting they didn't solve.

Friend of mine tried 10 different windscreens on one bike trying to get better air management with no success. In the end he sold the bike after only a couple of months and a couple thousand dollars in windscreens.

Good luck finding what works for you.

On first gen bikes, I like the Givi d260. It had a MadStad system with Parabellum windshield that I could not get adjusted to suit me. For my height, I wish the Givi was an inch or rwo shorter to see over but I am only 5'5".
There are likely to be other Strom-ers' like me: people who are in possession of multiple screens for your bike and likely to let you try them on yours... if a meetup could be arranged. Some of these people are likely to even reside near you. Where would that be?

Had the GIVI D260 on my 2009 Wee and really liked it. Now have 2018 Wee with the GIVI Air Flow. Really like this setup. Search on this site will reveal lots of input.

Thanks guys, I’ll do some looking around for a Givi.
I’m 6’2” with short legs, a tall torso, and sensitive to buffeting. I’ve had multiple KTM adventures and the best windscreen on those for me was a cut down stock one. I got into this v-Strom super cheap. Seems to run well but definitely needs some TLC.
By the way, I’m in the SF Bay Area if anyone has ANY wind screen they would like to get rid of.
I don’t think I can PM or post in the Classified section yet.
I have a big Windstrom brand screen for sale for $50, I'm in Felton. Let me know if youre interested.
I just replaced my stock windscreen with a Givi Airflow.
It is an improvement, but not as much as I was hoping.
That said, I'll likely keep the Givi...

I'd be willing to sell my stock one if you are interested, ... (I'm in the Bay Area too, Livermore)
Thanks everyone, Joe hooked me up!
Great Forum btw

There's a WEE (nut case) guy in your area that's a nut (in a good way, all about the Wee). He and a buddy specialize in HIGH Mileage (read cheap) Wee's. Up until recently he would post on ADVRIDER. His handle on there was
Freerydejunky

Here's the last thread he posted. Freeryde's Happy Goober Fun Times!

He decided to bail out of ADVRIDER due to it being taken over by some corporation. But that was like a month ago. He's now posting his stuff on Wee’n – NE California and Oregon – Day 1 – 4theriders

I bet he's got a windscreen or two or three you could try. And likely a lot of good info as well. His name is Grant.
You might try to contact him. Good luck!

Hi Jeff -
You might look into the Madstad bracket for your bike...allows you to tilt, raise, or lower windscreen. Have one on my '09 Wee and it has been a great addition.
Mine cam with a Rifle screen and I put a lip on the top, both work great together on my 04 dl650, also in East Bay.
I got one from Joe_13 thanks for all the info and help.

Givi has been a reliable cure for wind blast for me on Gen 1, Gen 2 DL650's and a Gen 2 1000.
