I've been searching for tankbags, rear cases, etc that can carry my pup along with me. So far I've only come up with the Bagster Friendy but I can't seem to find anyone in the US who sells them. I've been considering finding an old rear hardcase luggage and modifying it to fit a pooch, but does anyone have any other options? My dog is only about 11-15lbs wet, pretty tiny and likes to go in cars. I know I'd have to wean her onto the bike but any thoughts would be appreciated, thanks!

Here are some links to posts on the www.concours.org forum with some pics of "Duke", the traveling companion of one of the Concours riders. He used to have a C-10, now a FJR, and he modded one of the side bags to fit the poodle, complete with windshield.. You have to scroll down a ways to see pics of Duke in some of these. They even had a small crash on the FJR in Death Valley a few months back and Duke survived OK.

I carry my 5.5 lb dog almost daily in an airline approved soft pet carrier from ebay on the passenger seat. It has several mesh panels and zips open on one end. They kinda look like a duffel bag with windows. I fashioned an inner support system kinda like a roll cage to keep it 'inflated'.

There is a fellow in my neighbourhood who rides a cruiser. He has, instead of a top case, a large, chromed, open top metal box installed. His Australian Cattle Dog sits in the case with her doggles on as he rides all around town.

Thanks for the links, it's nice to see the ideas and cute pups! I've been considering getting a cheap topcase and modifying it to suit a small dog; right now I've got a Givi that I'm loathe to do anything to, but I've seen some others that run under $30 that wouldn't break my bank. The only problem with a top case is that I'd worry about exhaust getting into the cage. Perhaps only make vent holes on the non-exhaust side?

A tank bag would probably work best, although probably not give as much room as a topcase would. Perhaps some venting on the non-exhaust side, a hole in the top with a magnetic flap that can cover in case of rain etc. Yeah, brainstorming - I want to use my 'Strom as my sole mode of transportation and this includes being able to take my pup to the vet or dog park whenever she or I feel like it.
