Well it's March, winter is almost over. The recent snow will begin melting. I know a few of us live in the southwest metro area of Minneapolis St. Paul. I have not driven the gravel roads in the Minnesota River Valley by Mankato, but I hear that they are fun.

I would be interested in riding some of them and hitting the Schell Brewery tour on a Saturday in April.

Is anyone else interested?

I think Saturday April 28 would be good. If it is too wet a different route could be determined. Schells has the tours at 1:00, 2:00, 3:00 and 4:00 on Saturday's. The three o'clock tour would put us back in the metro area by 5:00 pm.

The tour information is at http://www.schellsbrewery.com/brew_tour_info.php

I like the Firebrick, the Dark, the Hefewiezen, and the Bock beers. They also have my favorite hot weather beer Grain Belt.

I think that a private brewery that has been passed down for 140+ years and went through the Sioux Uprising is unique.

If I've managed to actually buy my bike by that time, that sounds like a blast...

A little different route

Wloescher, thanks for the reply. With no one repling my brother keeps hounding me to go to the St. Croix area so he can ride the Buel Ulysses. I am going to try him into trying the Buel tommorrow instead.

Instead of hitting the short muddy trails by the river I am looking at a route using paved secondary and some gravel roads to New Ulm. I plan on riding the route here soon to ensure the roads are decent see if any one is interested.

At least I know the beer is good. I did miss their Bockfest this spring.

I can Go, I can Go!

Let me know if any one else is interested. If I hear from anyone I'll go hang out at Perkins in Shakopee between Noon and 1 PM.
