I came across this article: EYE OF THE STROM. Mellow Motorcycles' Suzuki V-Track 1000 Racer - Pipeburn.com, with the title of EYE OF THE STROM. Mellow Motorcycles’ Suzuki V-Track 1000 Racer. The article may be last years news but the question is, has anyone physically seen or test ridden this EYE OF THE STROM racer?

I have also read articles on drag racing the SV1000 fitted with a turbo and longer swingarm, etc, etc. Has this type of mod been attempted on a V-Strom and if so, what was the results? I do realize that a V-Twin will never reach the same drag speeds / times, as most other crutch rockets. BWM S1000RR 0-300 km/hr in 19.1 seconds >:)

A search on this site shows Turbo related questions asked before... but in the end, not much of a result or development has been done to-date. So if anyone has bucks to burn or the stones... >-)

And from the VSRI site: Building a DL650 Turbo

A YouTube link: (link plus title if the link fails)
aka turbo v strom 1000 made in Greece

There are other YouTube links available, but more on the SV1000 and SV650 than any V-strom

Not so easy

At a minimum, probably want new heads, new pistons, new rods, new crankshaft, possibly new camshafts. Better fasteners for heads and cylinders too. Enhanced cooling system, higher-volume oil system to assist in that. Obviously new exhaust. Recalibrated ignition system with more variable timing, based on a boost sensor. Premium gas only, of course. Possibly better materials or heat treating for transmission parts, a clutch with better clamping force (or perhaps added discks with better material). Might find that the crankcase can't handle the extra force. Then the new EPA cert, never cheap.

A turbo 650 would make more sense. With a bigger cylinder bore, the 1000 presents problems with flame speed/detonation, not to mention higher loading on nearly every part of the engine.

And it still wouldn't make as much power as the BMW.

Other than drag bikes, turbo's don't usually work out well on bikes due to space and packaging limitations. Not to mention spreading the development costs over a relatively few units. And the ease of extracting absurd, excessive power from aspro I-4's.
