So I'm gonna upgrade my stock suspension on the Vee. My options at the moment are Hyperpro progressive front and rear, or Hyperpro progressive rear and sonic springs up front (suprise suprise).

Could someone give me some pros and cons of each setup?

So you're just upgrading the springs, not the damping, right?

For the front springs, I'd get straight rate springs that suit the rider's loaded riding weight. Many here have done that with excellent results.

For front damping, RaceTech Gold Valves are the way to go.

The rear suspension linkage already provides progressive action. A straight rate spring matched to the load on the rear works well. A passenger's weight is totally on the rear, so take that into account. Keep in mind that if you upgrade the spring on the stock shock, you still have a mediocre damper inside that spring.

Hope this isn't a hijack, but's consistent with this thread.

My issue is this: my new-to-me '07 with 11k miles has a peculiar, jarring, loose feel in the front forks during low speed turns. Like it's just a really cheap assembly. I put on a Rick's fork brace and it handles better, but the jarring is still there. I'm about 175 lbs. The previous owner was around 200 lbs. Could it be the settings?

I should've added that my previous bike was a nicely set-up KLR650, so maybe I'm just spoiled?

I did Sonic 1.1's in the forks and a 16kg RaceTech spring on my stock shock.I weigh 275# and wife is 150# and we ran full bags ( 3 ).It was great when 2 up and loaded but alittle to stiff for solo. Now @ 50,000 miles my rear shock is gone so a new shock is comming soon. One nice thing about the stiff suspension was the bike sat alot higher and handled much better.
