I just received an email from "Strom Trooper", the URL is "e.stromtrooper.com". The message title is "Win a trip for two to Daytona Bike Week".

It looked highly suspicious and possibly phishing due to the very slight difference in the spellings so I deleted it without opening it. I don't care to win anything anyway. I know this could not have been from our form here, just wondering if anyone else has seen this particular address?

It's the Stromtrooper newsletter from Verticalscope. Everybody who hasn't opted out should get it.

Thanks, Greywolf. It's the first one I have received so I wasn't aware it even existed.

It's good to be careful on the net though as they are out there and intent on parting you from your money. Some may be benign but many are downright black hearted thieves. A friend on facebook keeps getting her account hijacked (even after changing her password). Last week while on FB "she" and I had a conversation on messenger on how I was also on the same list as her to receive a $100,000 "grant". Yeah, right. All I had to do was befriend a certain FB individual who was the holder of the register of people who could receive "grants" from this beneficiaries organization. Yeah, right.

I have also received oodles of giveaway posts for high end motor vehicles like R8 Audi's, Landrovers, etc. This untraceable company with a dead end FB account will put you in the draw so long as you befriend them and repost their offer on your page. Yeah, right.

I got the same offer and decided it was eminently ignore-able. Delete! Like everything else that looks Spamalicious!
All those warnings from Paypal or bank or such. I never use that provided portal to access an account. I go through my saved links.

I'm even more paranoid with my bank accounts in that I always type the address into the address bar. Login and password are half written on a scrap of paper kept in my desk drawer. Incomplete but enough to prompt me as senility approaches. The banks here advise that they will NEVER email you a link to contact them.
Everything else including Stromtooper, online stores and emails are kept by Lastpass, a password maker/vault and I would highly recommend that idea to everyone.
All I need to remember is my bank login and Lastpass master password. I use my great grandfathers first name and the year he migrated out of Norway, including some capital letters.
