I have close to 18k miles on the stock chain and sprockets. Keep them lubed so I have no idea when I'll replace them but I want to go with a SuperSprox rear sprocket. I use the SuperSprox on my KTM 450 EXC and I can't believe how little wear there has been for over 4 seasons especially since 95% of the time my KTM is in mud/sand.

I know it would look great on my orange Strom but I was wondering if anyone has had experience with the sprocket on the Strom. On the SuperSprox order page there are two types listed. One is stock replacement and one with the 520 chain conversion.

What advantages/disadvantages do you get with a 520 chain and do I need a different front sprocket with a 520?

I want to keep the front sprocket stock if possible. Thanks!!

Yes the sprockets must match the chain.

520 is narrower than 525. It weighs less, costs less, and will die sooner. The wider chain and matching sprockets spreads the load over a greater surface area resulting in longer chain & sprocket life.
