Hello troopers,

I bought a slightly used progressive rear shock to replace the stock unit on my 2005 wee.

Preparing for the install, I started researching suspensions more and more and I realized that the 465 progessive shock I bought may not have a stiff enough spring on it as it comes from progressive.

I weight 240lbs without gear and I will use this wee solely for adventure touring and always carrying at least 60lbs of junk.

I am curious to know if I could buy a dl650 spring from racetech (or other) and install it on my 465 progressive shock before I mount it.

Are they compatible?

Gracias all!

It should work. They send you a few spacer/collars to cover the gap for rebuilds. Try and call them and ask. Haha. Or best email them. One word of suggestion is if you do the race tech spring rate calculator and end up between sizes. I would suggest the lower of the two. Imho.

I got a racetech spring and had pro-action rebuild my factory shock. The stiffer spring is great two up loaded. But a little stiff solo.

I quickly got a response from Racetech and they do not know the specs of the priogressive 465 shock but are willing to work with me.

I have to remove the springs and measure a few things for them and they will let me know if they make a spring for it.

It will be a while before I am able to do this but I will keep you guyz updated.

Cheers.
