Hello,
About a thousand+ miles I noticed she started getting a different startup noise when bike is warmed up (It does it even with 2 bars on the engine temp, e.g not hot). It sounds like something is continuing to spin for extra second (reminds of high rpm dentist tool). Doesn't do it when cold, and there are no other noticeable issues other than the added noise. Since it wasn't like that before, I am concerned something is due for replacement, but what could it be? I searched the forum and not finding a match. Bike has about 20k miles.

Here is a video demonstrating this whine/spinning noise (cold vs warm):

I haven't heard that particular noise, but I do know that the "quick start" feature on my '21 is crappy and does not behave well when the engine is warm. In my case, I frequently heard a loud CLACK when I tapped the starter with a hot engine, as though it didn't disengage fast enough.

I solved the problem by ignoring the stupid "quick start" and just hold down the button until the engine fires, as I always did on my '08. Have not heard any misbehavior since.
