I tested yesterday new 650xt and I couldn't stand on pegs for long, very awkward, not stable position along with low, too close handlebar..
why is that? I'm 6.1, anyway to fix that?

i got a set of 1" risers and a set of 1200GS risers that provide a bit more rise and back. Those provide for more secure standing on the pegs riding. If you do much dirt bar risers make it more comfortable.
Various peg adjustments can help too.

I’m 6’3”. Added a peg lowering kit and 2” Rox risers up and forward. Dramatically improved the stand up (and seated) ergos for me.

but when you guys lower pegs ground clearance which is not big anyway will decrease, right?

which exactly lowering kit are you talking about?

Yes, that is normal for taller people.

Try our foot peg and control lowering kit. It lowers both the pegs and the controls. Lowering only the pegs causes a weird reach to the controls and is limited to about 3/8". Our peg lowering kit lowers everything an inch. Pegs, gear shift, and brake pedal. It improves the posture of the lower back and reduces bend at the knee. All for about 1/5 the cost of some lower pegs.

Beware expensive handlebar risers. Look around and you can find simple 1" risers for $25 or less, or spend close to $100 for the same benefit and a lot of aggressive costs. Or better yet check out the 2" nd 3" risers from Rox. They cost more, but in their case they are worth the money.

You can replace the brake top line on DL650 to accommodate the higher handlebar without the cost of replacing the entire brake line system. The clutch and throttle cables can be repositioned and work fine.

Doesn't reduce ground clearance because the pegs are still higher than the skid plate. Reduces the lean angle you can go into corners before you drag the pegs but only marginally.

Your options are limited. You can use a peg-lowering kit and bar risers or you can learn to use front and rear pegs at same time to place your body in the most comfortable and effective stance, lastly, you can learn to use front pegs only with a bent knee stance that will allow you to ride standing up for as long as you wish--leg strength and balance notwithstanding. Entirely up to you.
