I have just fitted an MMC stainless steel rear rack to my VStrom. The rack includes a rear bag support and bolts onto the original rear rack using existing holes.

The rack is available with or without the rear bag support and is made from 19.1mm x 19.1mm x 1.6mm thk 316 (marine grade) stainless steel. This material is up to 50% stronger than normal carbon steel and does not require a protective coating (so no rust if damaged).

With the MMC rack fitted, it still allows the the fitting of SW Motech QUICK-LOCK sidecase racks and retains the original passenger grab rails.

My opinion of the rack is that it is very well made, eazy to fit and super strong. It should out-last the bike.

For cost and availability, contact Erik at Twisted Throttle. He is currently looking into importing these racks into North America from Australia.

(I am helping Erik with this import deal for free and with no financial return to me, either now or in the future.)

rear rack

Richard,

Thats the greatest thing I have seen for the V-Strom yet. I called and left a message at Twisted Throttle, no call back as of yet. I also left my e mail address as well. If you have contact please let me know.

This is just the thing I have been looking for to have a bolt-on backrest for my Mrs. It looks like it could easily be fitted with a pad. Any idea of what costs might be (US $).

Any other info, please let me know. I think this will be a big seller.

Jim

MMC is a small engineering fabrication business in Cairns, Australia. They specialise in high quality stainless steel and aluminium (aluminum for US speakers) alloy work. They do not have a web site.

Twisted Throttle have been offered the exclusive rights to import the racks into North America. These rights have not yet been finalised. The retail price worldwide will depend on Twisted Throttle.

Hopefully, things should be finalised by the end of next week (02 July).

I will keep you informed.

MMC

Richard,
I'm in Coffs harbour NSW and this rack strikes me as just what I've been waiting for. Can you email me at [email protected] with the details of how I might be able to get one. The only difference to the one in the photos is that I would not need the rack part as wide. thanks
