My club put 4 of our member's bikes in our booth at the show. A fairly new Harley (please don't ask me which model) with some custom work done to it, an older Harley springer in near mint condition, a one owner 1984 Honda Nighthawk recently rebuilt, and my 2013 Wee. I fully expected the older Harley and the Nighthawk to be the bikes that generated the most interest, and thought the wee was mostly filling in space, but it turned out to be the exact opposite. A steady stream of visitors wanted to talk about the Wee, with questions from the mundane (can this keep up on the highway, can I ride this 2 up?) to the technical that I can't really answer (questions about the valve checks, performance numbers, gear ratios in the transmission...). Two people offered to buy the bike, but I won't be parting with this one anytime soon. I had several people ask about the AdventureTech products on my bike, particularly the over the dash GPS mount. Was able to direct them all to the AdventureTech website with the enthusiastic recommendation that
@richlandrick earns with every order. Directed 1 rider taking delivery of his 2023 Vstrom next week to this forum, and another longtime Vstrom rider who had somehow not managed to hear about this forum before. Also talked to one forum member who's planning on coming out to
@V-Tom's Bancroft lunch, but sadly I can't remember his name. I'm old. Forgive me.
As has been the case with post-pandemic motorcycle shows in Toronto, it's a thinner show than in previous years, and the audience is starting to reflect that, the attendance looked pretty lean too. Seemed to be a fairly successful day for our club though, lots of people willing to stop and talk about it, lots of interest in riding with us once we start up in May. Now I just can't wait for the show to be over so I can get my bike out and ride it again.
