Just bought a 2014 DL1000 - like new with low miles - stoked about that - but the speedometer is reading about 20 percent too fast. Local dealer says they can't change through software fix. Anyone experienced similar issue, and is there a fix?

Can I reduce there speedo error on my 05 wee? No abs on it.
Your bike is on the labs list so should be a plug and play fit.

Many years ago someone was producing a sticker to go on the dial face that moved the position of the numbers to correct things.

When I had a 09 650 I used liquid paper on the edge of the face to mark out my most popular speeds.

They are very close to 10% out so you can quickly do the sums in your head at 10%.

at 40 add 4, at 50 add 5, at 60 add 6 and so on.

Remembering that the speedometer is optimistic, so that when it is showing 55mph your actual speed is 50.6mph.
The speedo on my 2010 650 shows 108kph when the GPS shows 100kph.

I don't know why people get so worried about it. It's the same on cars.

One soon gets used to knowing the speed difference and making allowance for it.

Does that also result in mileage being optimistic? Does a 100k bike actually has 90k done?
No the odometers are very close to being correct.
