I had my foot on the rear brake and rolled backward down a hill. I think the rear brake caliper rotated and broke the sensor.

Has anyone experienced this?

I am struggling to find a replacement part, any recommendations?

Thank you

The ONLY WAY the caliper can rotate is if you reinstalled it with the groove on the caliper plate not engaging the tab on the swingarm. This is your first problem.

I can not help you with the second problem beyond recommending a parts search at maybe Chapparal (they have been best for quick ordering of non-stocked items).

Rear ABS sensor is what broke. Check Partzilla for a schematic and part number.

Thanks, I will reinstall the wheel and make sure it is done correctly this time. I did not see the grove and tab. My second set of tires so must have gotten lucky the first time.

I have been poking around partzilla with no luck.

The rear wheel speed sensor is located in the parts microfiche under the heading "Hydraulic Unit", referring to the ABS hydraulic unit.
MR Cycle shows this item as Part# 67510-11J00. Price shown is $165.97.

I did not think to look in the Hydraulic Unit.

Just ordered one.

Thank you

Maybe a dumb question.

While I am waiting for the part to arrive clearly the rear wheel has no ABS, can I assume the front wheel ABS still works? Or does any fault shut down the system?

After decades of riding without it, it is amazing how quickly I miss ABS on my commute.

Thanks

ANY fault in an ABS system renders the system inoperative. Just like in a car, an airbag lamp on renders the supplemental restraint system inop.

He says he ordered one in Post #7. From where, I dont know. I look primarily for the part number, then shop around for the price.

I spoke to then this morning and they said it was out if stock and on national back order. I had originally ordered it from them last week because the website said it shipped in 2 to 3 days.

Now that I have the part number I can find websites that list it but know one who actually had it in stock when I call. I think I found one on eBay
