......I laminate them with plastic sheets purchased at Walmart. After laminating the map, I sometimes cut it up with a utility knife so that it fits inside my Cortech tank bag map window. Doing this also cuts down on the "folding" and "unfolding" so much paper along the side of the road when a good crosswind is blowing.........or 18 wheeler is blowing by.

Incidentally, for those that use the Delorme Gazetteer series of maps, (they are made in my home state. But will tell you this, that none of the Gazetteers for the other states come close to the information contained within the good old state of Maine Gazetteer. This one started it all......), they will fit between your windshield, (the "top" end) and braced against a tankbag, (the bottom end). I did this on a ride this past weekend on a logging road through the woods. The Gazetteer was turned to the page I needed, (map twenty eight), and the whole book was inside a marine grade navigational map case. I propped the front end on top of the dash board and against my windshield and the bottom end was stubbed up against the front end of my tankbag. There was enough of a "bridge" between the two "contact" points that my handlebars had free swing beneath the map. No, I couldn't see my guages, but, when standing up on my pegs, I had the biggest and cheapest navigational screen on the market! The sunlight didn't bother the viewing either..........
