I've been toying with the idea of a slip on for my dl650 but it occured to me that one should at least give some thought to the business of spark arrestors since I intend to ride it quite a bit on dirt roads in forests.
I know in Oregon that Spark arrestors are required on trails but does anyone know just where the line is between where they are required and where not?
I'm also pretty certain that even if the stock system is not a spark arrestor per se, I wouldn't imagine anyone would mess with you too much over it. The aftermarket stuff though, since they are largely sport bike mufflers, I'm sure don't carry that rating.
Thanks in advance.

I am making a slipon for general street riding but also making my system capable to accept the original muffler for this reason. I ride woods and need a spark arrestor.

From the few slipons I have seen I don't believe they are spark arrested.

The stock silencer is soo very queit when one does not want to draw any uneeded attention.
