Check out the map below. It depicts some of my ideas about a solo ride though south east Utah. Some of the high lights are: Moab, North Rim of the Grand Canyon, some dirt roads, a ferry ride, 4 Corners, etc.... This is probably a 7-8 day ride. I plan to do some hotel and some tent camping.

Does anyone have any suggestions....places to go and things I should see?

Kind of hard to tell from your map but make sure you ride hwy 12 between Torrey and Escalante. And it would be a shame to not ride the roads east of Cedar City in the mountains while you're in the area. Hwy 72 between I-70 and Loa is nice too.

If you have a bit of time, there are zillions of dirt roads and Jeep trails around Moab that would be a hoot on a V-Strom. There is (or used to be) a neat dirt road from I-70 almost all the way to Moab.

There are 4X4 and mountain bike guides that will tell you which roads are reasonably passable and which would require a trials bike and anti-gravity.

On a mountain bike trip a while back, we were able to get to some really neat places in a Toyota Corolla without undue trauma.

Also, go further west in Utah if you can. Everything all the way out to Zion National Park and beyond is absolutely stunning and amazing and... :jawdrop:

Looks like a good route to me. I've been on all those roads except the part labeled slickhorn rapids (F, G hwy276). Good job on including hwy12.

The wife and I did this last October, just beautiful. The Burr Trail is paved until the West border of Capitol Reef. My wifes riding skills stopped us there, we turned around and rode to out Motel in Torrey.

Just south of Torry I saw this place. I did a litlle 6am ride while the wife and town slept.

Burr Trail views.................

End of the paved Road

Have a nice trip.
