Just in this last week, I've seen three members include sales ads in posts as at least part of a reply in somebody else's thread. One person even did that in more than one thread. That is against forum rules. Ads need to follow the marketplace rules.

I'm okay with somebody advising another person to check the For Sale ads in the marketplace but putting an ad in somebody else's thread or even posting a link to one's own ad is spamming the site. If any member sees someone advertising their own sale outside the the marketplace or local forum flea markets, please report the post using the exclamation point inside a triangle icon at the bottom of the pane under the poster's name.

When replying to a post, is it ok to post a link to the Marketplace listing or are generic referrals preferred?

Disregard, I reread the post and see links are considered spam.
